NEWS Brynmawr Company scoops Best Fleet Award Employees made it a double celebration of their 40th anniversary at the All Wales Truck & Transport Show, Carmarthen Showground when Thomas Waste Management Limited scooped the "Best Scania Fleet"award in 2008, also at the same showground this year we won Best Scania Fleet again, Best Man Vehicle, and the Best Fleet Truck Over 3 Years Old, award sponsored by Silurian Scania. This is an outstanding achievement at Wales' Premier Commercial Vehicle Show, given the very high standand of trucks on show, bearing in mind Thomas Waste vehicles are constantly working throughout the week in some of the filthiest conditions, and several of the lads were still on the tip Friday afternoon!

Thomas Waste Management celebrated a glorious 40 years in business during 2008. To mark their forty years in business, Mr & Mrs Royden Thomas were presented with a Classic Ford D-Series tipper lorry at The All Wales Truck & Transport Show, Three Counties Showground, Carmarthen, by three of their four sons - Gareth, Howard and Barry - This is one of the first vehicles the business started up with back in the good old days. Flowers and Champagne were also the order of the day for Dianne who is still in employment at the yard.

Christmas Switch-on with Coal House Cast Thomas Waste Management Limited are proud to sponsor Brynmawr Town Partnership and take part in the annual Christmas Switch-on of the town's lights to kick-off the Christmas festivities. Christmas Switch-on 2008 was a fantastic occasion with the weather holding off, remarkable attendance from exhibitors and the public alike. The dignitaries enlisted to do the the honours this year were none other than Big Brother winner Rachel Rice from Cwmbran and the wonderful Cast of Coal House, a BBC series which was filmed locally in Blaenavon.

Ford D-Series   The Ford D-Series is proving to be very popular with two Classic Vehicle Shows attended already this year - Monmouth Classic & Vintage Show and Abergavenny Vintage Steam Rally - May 2009.
